Shahrukh Khan seems to be missing someone very dearly these days. Now, before you jump to any conclusions, let us make it clear that we are talking about SRK’s son Aryan.
SRK‘s beloved beta Aryan, who is a student at the Sevenoaks School, Kent, Britain was here in Mumbai for a vacation. However, his vacation ended recently and it was time for him to go back to school. Reportedly, Shahrukh dropped Aryan to the school, but the actor started missing his son the moment he left.
“Dropped son for school. I feel so proud of him that I feel proud of me. Song on radio ‘You’re gonna miss me when I am gone’,” the Chennai Express actor tweeted.

Even when the two arch-rivals of their times-Madhuri Dixit Nene and Juhi Chawla- looked their amicable best while sharing the couch on the popular chat show Koffee with Karan, the tension in the air was palpable. Both Mads and Juhi looked cordial, warm and welcoming to each other, but the residue of their not-so-friendly equation from the past was showing its effect- no matter what and no matter how the duo was trying to conceal their true sentiments towards each other oh-so-cleverly and discreetly.
But more than their much talked about animosity, we were more interested in knowing who will turn up their sartorially sensible avatars to steam it up with KJo.
While the dhak-dhak girl was glowing (thanks to some miracle bronzer or skin polishing) as she dazzled us with her million dollar smile that the diva wore with a beautifully crafted Sabyasachi saree. The cream coloured drape with thick gold bordered and a hint of pink hue thrown in matched the sleevless pink blouse. The dangling earrings only added more drama to the glam look. But Mads carried the ensemble only the way she can-with lots of charm, royalty and oomph.
Juhi on the other hand chose to wear an intricately designed maroon anarkali. The full-sleeved creation with intricate gold embroidery with royal blue pleats at the centre of the suit made Juhi look classy. The star really knows how to dress her age. The buttons, the floral work on the garment and the full sleeves only made Juhi look elegant and chic.

Apparently, the Kapoor lass is taking a lot of interest in deciding her wardrobe for Sooraj Barjatya’s next which also stars Sallu miyaan in the lead. We know Sonam loves fashion and is one of the best dressed ladies in B-town but isn’t acting more than just looking pretty onscreen?

Sonam Kapoor should be thanking her stars as she has finally bagged a Salman Khan film. Anil Kapoor’s beti will romance the bhai of Bollywood in Sooraj Barjatya’s much-talked about Bade Bhaiyya. But instead of preparing for her role, which most actors do to get into the skin of their character, Ms Kapoor is focusing on the style part. We hear the actor has been constantly suggesting the makers of her film what outfits she should wear in the film. The starlet wants to give a makeover to the typical Barjatya heroine image by blending ethnic and western clothes for her look in the new Rajshri film. But this hasn’t gone down well with the Sooraj Barjatya. That’s what the reports claim. Well, if the grapevine is indeed true then we don’t blame the talented filmmaker. Coz getting your act right is more important than getting your look for a film, hai na? Something Sonam should understand real soon!
Any which ways it’s high time that the Aisha actor concentrates on her acting skills and not fashion. Though she has two hit films under her kitty – Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Raanjhanaa – we all know both the films worked at the box office coz of their lead heroes Farhan Akhtar and Dhanush respectively. Sonam hardly had anything to do with their success. With Salman starrer Bade Bhaiyya, Sonam can change the game for herself but only if she stops obsessing over her look in the film. Otherwise, her love for fashion could well cost her this coveted film. Something she cannot really afford if she knows what a Salman film can do to a heroine’s career in Bollywood. Why was the release of Aamir Khan’s P.K. delayed?

               

Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial venture was initially supposed to release on June 6 but now the Aamir starrer film is scheduled for a Christmas release this year. But why did the makers pushed back the release of P.K.?

Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer P.K. was all set to hit the screens in June this year. Since its coming together of Khan and Hirani after 3 Idiots, we were really looking forward to their latest offering. But sadly the makers of P.K. changed the release date of their film from June to December. While nobody knew the reason behind this sudden change, the Dhoom:3 baddie while talking to leading tabloid revealed, “Raju wanted to spend more time on the editing which is why the release was pushed to December. Besides, some portions with Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) are yet to be shot.” Since the Munnabhai actor is out on parole, we hope he completes shooting for his part. After all, we don’t want P.K. to release next year.
Also, the second season of Satyamev Jayate will kick off from March. So Kiran Rao’s hubby dearest wasn’t sure if he would be able to promote P.K. in June. Hence the makers of his film settled for a December release.
In a way it’s good that Aamir-Anushka’s film will hit the theatres at the end of the year coz December has been very lucky for Khan and his films. We all remember what happened with Dhoom:3 last year, hai na?

Sanjay Dutt seems to be making the most of his parole time. The actor has been out once again from jail and this time reports are afloat that the actor is giving most of his time to bettering his production house. The actor has roped in Prabhu Dheva, Rohit Shetty and Rajkumar Hirani to do a film under his banner.

Talking to a leading daily a source informed, “Rohit Shetty will be making a film for Sanjay Dutt’s production house and this film will go on the floors in 2016. Right now, nothing else about this project has been finalised — be it the film’s genre, its subject or star cast. But before that, the production company will start work on a film with Prabhu Dheva; work on this project will start sometime next year. Other details about the film are still being worked out.” A little birdie informs us that Sanjay Dutt Productions has just completed the shooting of Hasmukh Pighal Gaya, a film by debutante director, Sejal Shah.
Now we only hope that the actor is able to not just produce but also able to act in some movies. After all, since the time he has been in jail we are all dying to have a glimpse of the Agneepath star on celluloid. Hai na BollywoodLifers?

Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D’cruz, who were shooting for their upcoming film, Main Tera Hero in Bangkok didn’t miss a chance to go shopping, we hear. And it doesn’t come as a surprise to us. After all, don’t we know that Bangkok is a shopper’s paradise? Sources say that the two pretty ladies were so keen on shopping that they requested David Dhawan (director of the film) to give them a break to shop.
A little birdie from Bangkok told us, “Illeana and Nargis hit off so well while shooting in Bangkok that they specially went on a shopping spree in Bangkok. Both of them requested David to give them a day off so that they could shop in Bangkok. They also surprised all of us by getting a lot of local stuff and souvenirs for the crew.”
Well, with their acting careers not doing so great, we are not surprised that these two ladies were bonding over shopping. Also we wonder, if they bought a return gift for a certain

 

Has Yo Yo Honey Singh shifted loyalties from Shahrukh Khan to Salman Khan?

After working with Shahrukh Khan in Chennai Express, Yo Yo Honey Singh was recently spotted bonding with Salman Khan at the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) event. What’s surprising is that King Khan has chosen Arijit Singh as a replacement for Honey Singh for the Temptations Reloaded Malaysia concert. While Honey’s publicists say that it’s lack of dates, we wonder if it’s his closeness to the Jai Ho star that’s making the Happy New Year actor wary?

So, Honey Singh will be missing from SRK’s concert, but it seems like the hit machine has found a huge fan following in B-town biggies. Apparently Singh and the Kick actor were engrossed in a discussion at the CCL event and planning to collaborate for SK’s next film.

Sidharth Malhotra: Parineeti Chopra needs to lose some weight!

Greeting us with a firm handshake at the Dharma Productions office, The Villain actor talks about how ‘senti’ his character from Hasee Toh Phasee is, his co-star’s diet of kakdi and tamatar and what happens when a romcom is not a romcom…

One film old Sidharth Malhotra exudes a confidence that is par excellence and awe-inspiring. He talks about how different Hasee Toh Phasee is from Student Of The Year and how he always wanted to be a solo star in a film. Excerpts from a tête-à-tête…

Tell us about your character in the film…

I am playing a guy called Nikhil Bhardwaj. He is not the typical hero kind of guy. He is not doing so well. He is running an unsuccessful event management company. He is not making so much money in life. He has been pressurised to make a certain amount of money by his family, friends and especially his girlfriend. At the same time he is also trying to figure out his goal in life. He is not the typical go-getter kind of guy and he is not a bad person at heart. He might speak rubbish about somebody, but he would not harm anybody for his own profit. We have tried to make a romcom between two hatke characters and not between a hero and a heroine.

You term the film a ‘romcom’, whereas Karan Johar insists it should not be called that….

As I said, it is a romcom between two characters and therefore it is not like the typical romcom where there is a hero and heroine and then the villain takes her away and the hero saves her. It is different, as the two characters are different. Everyone has those ‘not so successful, not so likeable’ kinds of people in their family or friends circle. Vinil Matthews has tried to show a romance between these two characters who are definitely way different from a mainstream hero and heroine. It about how these two not so likeable people meet, spend seven days together and fall in love.

What is so ‘senti’ about your character?

The sentiness comes into his character because nothing in his life is going correct. He has so many grudges in life and he yearns for so many things and all that makes him sentimental. Even after having all these issues he is someone who would not harm anyone. He starts feeling bad about Parineeti’s character and becomes very emotional and ‘senti’. That’s how he slowly starts getting attracted to her.

This is your second film with Dharma Productions….

(Cutting in) Actually, this is a film by Phantom Films. Dharma Productions is just a backing studio and they are only doing marketing for the film. The production, script, direction… everything came from Phantom Films. Only now we have come to Dharma Productions for their marketing skills. Phantom came to Dharma with the script and they specifically asked for me. Karan asked me to meet Vinil and have a better knowhow of the script. That is exactly what I did and everything started falling into place.

So people came to watch your first film as it was a Karan Johar film, but now people will come to watch a Sidharth Malhotra film. Does that thought scare you – that now you have to drive the film and people will come to watch you?

Actually, more than scary, it’s exciting. We all are in this business for this. We all want to have solo releases eventually and today I have got my chance. Obviously there is pressure for performance and you are always nervous whether the film would work or not, but that thought lingers in your head for every film. More than anything it is a Friday that I have been waiting for since a long time, as it is my first solo release. Hopefully people will like me, as I have tried to do something different from Student Of The Year.

So you mean to say that it is a content driven film?

It always is. I mean, we don’t have great locations, we don’t have great costumes and we don’t have extravagant sets. The only thing that’s driving the film is the content and how quirky these two characters are. It is like how two black sheep of the family end up meeting and falling in love. The quirkiness in the writing is the USP of the film.

So do you think your first film was not content driven and was just a KJo movie?

You got me wrong. I meant that SOTY was so much more than content. It had the glitz and glamour, the locations, the visuals, great frames and so many amazing things. In Hasee Toh Phasee we didn’t have that much money to shoot.

Tell me something that is quirky about Parineeti’s character…

There is a lot of quirkiness in her character. She keeps tripping between these two personalities and there is a specific reason for it that I can’t reveal. She eats toothpaste, she makes strange noises at times, she laughs weird and she has crazy eyes. There is a lot of quirkiness in her character.

Parineeti Chopra: I am overweight, but not as much as Sonakshi Sinha!

And what about Parineeti as a person? Tell us about one quirky habit of hers…

Parineeti is obsessed with mouth sprays for some weird reason. Each time she used to use her mouth spray, I used to get confused, thinking whether there is a kissing scene that I don’t know of, and she might be preparing for it. Although it is a good habit, once it becomes obsessive it’s not so cool any more. And yeah, recently she has started some more quirky habits. She has started eating a lot of kakdi and tamatar, which is a good thing as she wants to lose some weight. She has also stopped eating pizza which was a common part of her diet. So we have this quirky deal that I will give her workout tips and she would teach me to speak theth Punjabi.

As Karan would put it in Koffee With Karan, who among your three co-stars has a brighter future—Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra or Shraddha Kapoor?

(Laughs) Actually, I am more concerned about my future and I feel I have the brightest future and not these girls.

That is so very diplomatic…

No, really! I am just two films old and am very concerned about my own future in the industry – and too busy to keep thinking about these girls. And it holds the same with Alia, as we have just seen the tip of the iceberg. There is a lot more to her acting and I guess once Highway and 2 States are out, everyone would have a different perception about her acting abilities. So you should wait and watch out and maybe next time you meet me we could decide on who among the three is a better actor. (Laughs)

Finally, how does your future look?

I am presently shooting for The Villain, which is Mohit Suri’s next. It is way different from this film. It is an intense, dark love story and also has a bit of action. Everything is very emotional and very dramatic in that film. The character is very aggressive and I am not playing the villain in the film, as you might think. The film tells us that everybody has a dark side to them. So these are two very different films that I am coming up with this year.

So this week it was Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha, who had some steaming cups of coffee on Karan Johar’s hit chat show, Koffee With Karan 4. And we had a helluva time as the couple…err…co-stars of R…Rajkumar answered all those provocative questions that came from KJo. But amidst all this, what really caught our attention was Sasha defending Sonakshi by taking a whip to ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor (now Khan). Wondering what we are talking about? Well, the story goes something like this…

When Kareena along with her cousin Ranbir Kapoor made an appearance on KWK 4 a few weeks ago she meanly remarked that an alternate profession for Sonakshi could be as a housewife, if she wasn’t in Bollywood. Even though she reacted to this by saying that she always wanted to get married and have two children, KKK’s snide statement hadn’t gone down well with Sona – the Dabangg gal took Kareena down in her Rapid Fire round by saying that Bebo could be a gossip columnist if she wasn’t in the film industry. And we all know how Saif Ali Khan’s begum likes a good gossip, hai na?

But the story didn’t end there. The lady who has masala hips (according to Priyanka Chopra) had support coming in from couch-sharer Shahid, who ended the show saying that Sonakshi was much, much more than a housewife. And we couldn’t agree more with him. After all, Sona has proved her prowess as an actor with a film like Lootera, don’t you think?

But we like how Sasha took a dig at ex-flame Kareena. What say, peeps? And while goss going around that something is brewing between the R…Rajkumar co-stars is not yet backed up by anything interesting, we could find some proof in the way SK stood up for his couch-companion.

Salman Khan has launched many faces in Bollywood and the latest pretty lady to have entered the world of glamour with bhai’s help is Daisy Shah. Though Jai Ho starring Dabangg Khan and Ms Shah failed to create dhoom at the box office, the former doesn’t mind working with his new find again. As per the latest buzz, Sallu is keen on roping in Daisy alongside him in Sooraj Barjatya’s next. Not so long ago, Deepika Padukone was approached for the lead role but the leggy lass turned down the offer as she has to start working on Imtiaz Ali’s next. Then rumours were rife that Khan wanted his favourite Bigg Boss 7 contestant Elli Avram in the film. But if the latest grapevine is true then the Mickey Virus babe will have to wait a little longer to act with Salman, hai na?

While talking to a tabloid, a source said, “Both Salman and Deepika are keen to work with each other. But with the latter’s dates having been blocked for Imitiaz Ali’s film, this may not happen anytime soon. So now, Salman feels that Daisy can be cast instead. He even suggested the same to Sooraj Barjatya,”

It seems the Being Human star is doing everything possible so that his Jai Ho co-star soon signs her second film, no? Well, we won’t be surprised if Sallu and Daisy come together for Barjatya’s much-talked about project. Coz SK’s suggestions are always taken seriously by his directors!

Main Tera Hero trailer: Is Varun Dhawan the next Govinda?

Looks like beta Dhawan is trying to bring back papa’s style of film making. But does he have it in him to become the next wacky superstar?

So the trailer of much awaited Main Tera Hero is out and we must say, we are impressed. The promo is colourful, has some crazy dialogues, is packed with dhamaakedaar action and has Varun Dhawan who instantly reminded us of Govinda.
Too much taareef? Well, it’s true that the Nargis Fakhri, Illeana D’Cruz and Varun starrer Main Tera Hero looks promising – at least the promo – but it took us back to the ’90s…the David Dhawan times. Remember those bizarrely colourful sets, sharp and witty one-liners accompanied with typical bike and jeep action? Yes, that’s the picture that came to our minds when we saw this trailer, where Varun is trying his best to over act.
What remains to be seen now is, whether the Student of The Year star has it in him to pull off a movie solely on his shoulders. Will he be able to carry of the Govinda image with finesse? Or will it just become another over-hyped, much too crassly for the classy’s taste venture? Dekhna padegaaaa…..

Sachin Tendulkar, who will be conferred the Bharat Ratna by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan on February 4 has Bollywood celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha rooting for him. But they feel that no honour will ever match what the master blaster has achieved in his 24-year-long career.

Dia Mirza: There are some people, who, no matter how many awards they are given, give you the impression that they deserve more. Of course it is fantastic that he is being conferred the Bharat Ratna. But we have always known that Sachin Tendulkar is Bharat’s (India) Ratna. Every cricket fan, every Sachin fan is going to be ecstatic and thrilled for him.

Sonakshi Sinha better dressed than Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor Khan at Star Guild Awards!

Deepika Padukone: He deserves it. He deserves every sort of appreciation that anybody can get. But I think more than anything he is a brand, he is a legend. No matter how many times you felicitate him or the biggest honour that you give him, I don’t think anything will sort of live up to what he has achieved for himself.
Ranveer Singh: I feel some other award must be invented for him, he is such a legend.

The Student Of The Year actor will soon be seen opposite Randeep Hooda in Imtiaz Ali’s next

Mahesh Bhatt‘s ladli beti was first seen in Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. After this, though Ms Bhatt was flooded with film offers, her next film will release only this month. Though the actor comes from a filmi background which also owns one of the most successful production houses, Alia has signed three big banner films with other production houses. In a recent interview, the Jr Bhatt said,
“I am not being offered any film. They are launching other people… giving 100 crore to other people. But jokes apart I think they are waiting for the right project and the right time. Till now nothing has come my way. It will happen. And when it does it will be with a bang,” Alia said.
